Russian high-tech business incubators: functional-and-value analysis approach

The application of value management as well as functional-and-valueanalysis is still at the development stage in the Russian economy. Ourwork analyses the application of these methods in the particular case ofhigh-tech business incubators. We investigate and analyse the advantages thatfunctional-and-value analysis provides for the R&D-intensive field, taking intoaccount the economic and social motivations in the establishment of a businessincubator, its organisation and interaction with internal and externalcomponents. In this context we also determine the importance of valuemanagement and value analysis in enhancing internationalisation of high-techRussian enterprises. Finally, the evolution process of value management andfunctional-and-value analysis in the conditions of the idiosyncratic Russianeconomy is described and crucial factors of modern tendencies, such as greaterefficiency but high risk aversion are highlighted.
