Experimental tests were carried out using the solar collectors testing loop at the Building Energy Laboratory of the University of Calabria, in order to characterise a liquid solar collector with a stainless steel selective flat-plate and chequered integrated channels. The tests were carried out both in stationary conditions conforming to the standard ISO 9806-1 and in “quasi dynamic” conditions by means of the QDT method introduced by regulation EN 12975-2. Moreover, tests were carried out in transitory conditions using the Rogers method, the Saunier method, the Perers method, the Wijeysundera method, Quick Dynamic Testing and the filter method. The comparison effected showed a substantial agreement among the various methods, above all in relation to the estimate of the optical efficiency. The difference in the estimate of the coefficient of thermal loss of the collector proved to be more pronounced, even if the maximum deviation among the various methods and the stationary method resulted less than 10%.
