We present the results of a research focusing on the arthropods collected in dune and back-dune environments at San Ferdinando in the province of Reggio Calabria. More than 500 specimens, collected using pitfall traps, were examined and 35 species belonging to 14 families were identified. The most abundant families were Zodariidae, Lycosidae and Gnaphosidae, and the most frequent species Zodarion elegans, Alopecosa albofasciata and Nomisia exornata. Fourteen species are reported for the first time in the Calabria region, whereas for Dysdera lata and Nesticella mogera are here recorded for the first time in Italy.
