Abstract

The volume and weight of the Switch Mode Power Supplies can be significantly reduced by using ferrite magnetic core inductors in a slightly saturated region. Accurate models of their behavior are needed to design efficient devices. The possibility of modelling the non-linear system when the device is voltage driven is mainly of practical importance, since in the case of implementation of the procedure in hardware the sources that are easiest to find are assimilable to voltage generators. This paper proposes and verifies the quality of the models based on Hammerstein-type structures to represent the non-linear behavior in the case of voltage-driven inductors.
