In the thought of Guardini, the human being is first of all a project person who through education must discover himself and grasp the meaning of his existence. Analyzing the different seasons of life, Guardini shows that each age has a 'crisis of passage', that of growth in early life; the crisis of experience in adolescence; the crisis of the limit in adulthood and that of detachment in senescence. The adult is a person aware of himself and his limits who has acquired awareness of his role in the world, he is the one who reveals his character, his most authentic essence. Life lived is as if it nurtured the ability to introspect and decode human behavior and an irrepressible educational desire for self-appropriation in adulthood.
