A new class of models for rainfall downscaling is described (De Luca, 2014), aimed to improve the modelling of the main features of rainfall time series at high resolution, especially for the cases where variability of rainfall irregularly changes with temporal aggregation. The results obtained for Basilicata and Calabria regions (southern Italy) showed a good agreement with the observed data, in particular for the summer months, when it is well known that the process of rainfall breakdown is nearly stationary into a range of finer temporal resolutions.

Abstract
A new class of models for rainfall downscaling is described (De Luca, 2014), aimed to improve the modelling of the main features of rainfall time series at high resolution, especially for the cases where variability of rainfall irregularly changes with temporal aggregation. The results obtained for Basilicata and Calabria regions (southern Italy) showed a good agreement with the observed data, in particular for the summer months, when it is well known that the process of rainfall breakdown is nearly stationary into a range of finer temporal resolutions.File in questo prodotto:
