Literature about cities is increasingly enriched by a variety of theoretical considerations concerning practical interventions and strategies to be implemented in order to make the urban development more dynamic in terms of balance and sustainability.Several studies on urban sustainability point out how the latest eco-compatible strategies praise the concept of slowness as well as the good use of technology, which is a key element for the improvement of the urban quality of life. According to the idea that being slow means being smart, firstly the chapter introduces the concepts of smart cities and slow city, and second it highlights the points of convergence between the two sustainable urban models.
