Curves, geometric objects by definition, have always fascinated mathematicians and designers. They remind us of drawing, projects and construction but they also symbolize gesture and beauty. They offer a rich and to some extent unexplored field of study which can be discovered and re-discovered with students of different age groups. This work presents a didactic workshop on the generation of a strophoid curve on the plane with the use of the computer as a programming tool. The workshop, aimed at the 4th class of scientific-technological secondary schools, is structured as follows: 1. after a short introduction the programming environment MatCos is mentioned. 2. The strophoid curve is then introduced, first from a historical point of view, then with the algorithms of construction and related MatCos implementation. Brief considerations round off the work.
