Cyclometalated complexes of heavy metals with either d6 or d8 electronic configurations are emerging as the most interesting and versatile candidates for the incorporation into electroluminescent devices such as OLEDs and LECs. The role of palladium complexes is reviewed with special emphasis on the latest results from leading groups. The resulting picture is rather unexpected as the number of organometallic palladium complexes that reveal room temperature luminescence is rapidly increasing.

Abstract
Cyclometalated complexes of heavy metals with either d6 or d8 electronic configurations are emerging as the most interesting and versatile candidates for the incorporation into electroluminescent devices such as OLEDs and LECs. The role of palladium complexes is reviewed with special emphasis on the latest results from leading groups. The resulting picture is rather unexpected as the number of organometallic palladium complexes that reveal room temperature luminescence is rapidly increasing.File in questo prodotto:
