A novel fractal microwave absorber is proposed to operate within the UHF-RFID band for the reduction of multipath adverse effects. Good miniaturization capabilities are demonstrated for a 868MHz absorber unit cell with an absorptivity more than 99% and a very thin substrate thickness (lambda0/100 at the operating frequency). Thanks to its compactness and effectiveness in achieving perfect absorption, the proposed configuration is appealing for those applications operating in confined indoor environments.

Abstract
A novel fractal microwave absorber is proposed to operate within the UHF-RFID band for the reduction of multipath adverse effects. Good miniaturization capabilities are demonstrated for a 868MHz absorber unit cell with an absorptivity more than 99% and a very thin substrate thickness (lambda0/100 at the operating frequency). Thanks to its compactness and effectiveness in achieving perfect absorption, the proposed configuration is appealing for those applications operating in confined indoor environments.File in questo prodotto:
