This work focuses on the use of technology in the classroom for the teaching-learning of mathematics. After a brief outline of the current situation in Italian schools, we address the issue of programming as an important teching tool for its pedagogical and educational value. The central part of this stud stresses the importance of choosing a programming environment suited to the teaching contest. A practical teaching example and some conclusions round off the paper.
