This paper describes a software infrastructure -ACTORSERVICE- for the management of distributed and time-dependent systems. The infrastructure exploits state-of-art technologies of services and mobile agents. Services are used for deployment, configuration and control of a distributed application. Mobile agents (i.e., actors) are the computational components used to structure the application business logic. A key factor of the adopted computational model is that message-passing among actors can be made time-sensitive through a customizable runtime support. The paper introduces ACTORSERVICE and describes an application to a real-time measurement system.

Abstract
This paper describes a software infrastructure -ACTORSERVICE- for the management of distributed and time-dependent systems. The infrastructure exploits state-of-art technologies of services and mobile agents. Services are used for deployment, configuration and control of a distributed application. Mobile agents (i.e., actors) are the computational components used to structure the application business logic. A key factor of the adopted computational model is that message-passing among actors can be made time-sensitive through a customizable runtime support. The paper introduces ACTORSERVICE and describes an application to a real-time measurement system.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
