The overall aim of this study is to develop a structural model that logically reflects the debonding process of RC beams shear-strengthened with complete FRP wraps. To quantify this phenomenon, a theoretical approach is employed to establish the development of the stress profile in the FRP strips throughout the loading process as characterized by the development of the critical shear crack width. Based on this study, effective FRP stress distribution factors for both serviceability and ultimate limit states are proposed.

Abstract

The overall aim of this study is to develop a structural model that logically reflects the debonding process of RC beams shear-strengthened with complete FRP wraps. To quantify this phenomenon, a theoretical approach is employed to establish the development of the stress profile in the FRP strips throughout the loading process as characterized by the development of the critical shear crack width. Based on this study, effective FRP stress distribution factors for both serviceability and ultimate limit states are proposed.
