I Cartoon: la famiglia Simpson Cartons: The Simpsons

How would the social community be without family? In these pages the author tries to answer this question. This paper is divided into three short sections which try to explore the pedagogical features of the family through the most famous sitcom of the US (and not only of the US): The Simpsons. This family is quite different from the structural complexity of the one created by Walt Disney. The author’s analysis shows that the real family is based on the religious ethics of sacrifice, of work and of the acceptance and overcoming of all economic adversities. Yet, human faults need to be controlled to make sure they do not turn into violent acts. And to do so, we need educational action, which is not a utopia, but rather a natural source which is also necessary to bring the aggravation of faults back into balance.

Come sarebbe la comunità sociale senza la famiglia? L’autrice in queste pagine cerca di dare una risposta a tale domanda. Il presente paper, infatti, suddiviso in tre brevi parti, è un tentativo di esplorazione delle caratteristiche pedagogiche della famiglia attraverso la sitcom più famosa degli Stati Uniti e non solo: I Simpson. Una famiglia lontana da una complessità strutturale, come poteva essere quella prodotta dalla Walt Disney. Ma dall’analisi compiuta dall’Autrice la famiglia reale è costituita dall’etica religiosa del sacrificio, del lavoro, dell’accettazione e del superamento delle avversità economiche. Ma in tutto questo bisogna controllare i difetti umani affinché non degenerino in atti violenti. E per fare questo si ha necessariamente bisogno dell’azione educativa che non è utopia ma fonte indispensabile e naturale del riequilibrio dell’esasperazione dei difetti.
