The objective of this paper is twofold: (i) provide a brief overview on HLA and SCORM standards; (ii) highlight potentials of SCORM-HLA integration for supporting education process and training in priority sectors. To this end we propose, as case study, a HLA based simulator for supporting training in logistics (specifically in marine terminal environments) and we discuss critical issues related to interfaces, data storage and performance assessment in case of SCORM integration.
