In this paper, some automatic updating methodologies of the knowledge base present in an e-learning platform are described. In particular, the used knowledge base is managed by an Intelligent Agent called TutorBot, that directly interacts with the learners in natural language through logical rules identified by means of the AIML standard. The updating of the knowledge base in AIML happens in an automatic way through the use of a model which integrates an Adaptive Search Engine in TutorBot for the parsing of aiml embedded in HTML documents.
