This work focuses on containers handling problems due to new security issues in seaports. The need to find more efficient solutions, in particular in relation to the containers inspection phases, has lead the authors to use Modeling & Simulation as a cognitive tool. Several analyses have been made, aiming to evaluate the impact of some fundamental design parameters on the system performances. The proposed research is focusing on the use of Design of Experiments (DOE) to develop experimental campaign based on simulation runs for being analyzed by ANalysis Of VAriance (ANOVA) in order to obtain quantitative statistical results about the impact of different security procedures on logistics efficiency.

Abstract
This work focuses on containers handling problems due to new security issues in seaports. The need to find more efficient solutions, in particular in relation to the containers inspection phases, has lead the authors to use Modeling & Simulation as a cognitive tool. Several analyses have been made, aiming to evaluate the impact of some fundamental design parameters on the system performances. The proposed research is focusing on the use of Design of Experiments (DOE) to develop experimental campaign based on simulation runs for being analyzed by ANalysis Of VAriance (ANOVA) in order to obtain quantitative statistical results about the impact of different security procedures on logistics efficiency.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
