Diffraction 2014, International Workshop on Diffraction in High-Energy Physics, was the eighth meeting in the series of biennial Diffraction workshops, the preceding being held in Cetraro (Cosenza, Italy) in 2000, Alushta (Crimean coast of the Black Sea, Ukraine) in 2002, Cala Gonone (eastern coast of Sardinia, Italy) in 2004, Adamantas (Milos Island, Greece) in 2006, La Londe-les-Maures (Côte d’Azur, France) in 2008, Otranto (Lecce, Italy) in 2010, and Lanzarote (Canary Islands, Spain) in 2012. There were 89 participants from 17 different countries, many of whom were PhD students and young post-docs. Talks given during the workshop covered the recent theoretical and experimental progress in diffractive hadronic collisions at high energies. The main topics were diffraction in electron-proton, hadron-hadron, and heavy ion collisions; forward physics at the hadron colliders; low-x physics at the LHC; perturbative QCD; and spin physics. Most of the contributions are summarized in this volume.
