Cavallerizzo is a village of arbëreshë minority in the Province of Cosenza, established by the Sanseverino prince of Bisignano in the early XVI century by Albanian refugees who settled in the local mountains. The village is situated close to "S.Fili-S.Marco Argentano" fault, which extends over fifty kilometers. In 2005 a landslide affected the southern outskirts of recent expansion of the village; the historic center was not affected by the landslide; however the entire village was declared unfit and abandoned along with its arbëreshë heritage. The project aims to create a living museum of typical activities of the Albanian minority, and restore its Balkan, Spanish and French architectural influences and urban planning, moreover add a geological survey for the western edge of the Valley of Crati.
