Ecuador areas of mining interest are located in the South on the border with Peru. Due to site conditions and activities of mining type, high concentrations of heavy metals have been found in the soil, in the proximity of Zarza river. The aim of this study is to assess related health risks of the nearby population, both in terms of carcinogenic and non carcinogenic Risk. We analyze data for soil concentrations of six potentially dangerous elements. The receivers we consider are children and adults. The data are analyze from the deterministic point of view using the MLE and RME factors.
