"Mörder unter uns" was the original title of Fritz Lang's famous film "M", which introduces the theme of violence in early expressionist prose. Taking as the starting point of her study two famous short stories, "Die Ermordung einer Butterblume" by Alfred Doeblin und "Der Irre" by Georg Heym, the article explores the frail boundary separating what is considered to be 'normal' from the 'abnormal' - an important focus in these years.

"Mörder unter uns" war der ursprüngliche Titel des berühmten Films von Fritz Lang, der das Thema der Gewalt in der frühen expressionistischen Prosa einleitet. Am Beispiel von zwei beruehmten Erzaehlungen - "Die Ermordung einer Butterblume" von Doeblin und "Der Irre" von Georg Heym -, wird die labile Grenze zwischen Normalem und Abnormalem erforscht, die gerade in jenen Jahren wichtige Impulse bekam.
