De Luca has edited a vast and accurate comment on the Panegyricus Messallae, starting from the text edited by F.W. Lenz and G.C. Galinsky (Leiden 1971) and collecting several proves against the attribution of this composition to Tibullus: the Panegyricus Messallae would not be a Tibullus'work but a rhetorical exercise and cannot possibly be dated to 31 B. C.She has also investigated the relationship between the Panegyricus Messallae and the rhetorical tradition of the encomium and has given a special attention to the few but important references to this text, made by authors of the Late Antiquity.
La De Luca, partendo dal testo di F.W. Lenz e G.C.

Abstract
De Luca has edited a vast and accurate comment on the Panegyricus Messallae, starting from the text edited by F.W. Lenz and G.C. Galinsky (Leiden 1971) and collecting several proves against the attribution of this composition to Tibullus: the Panegyricus Messallae would not be a Tibullus'work but a rhetorical exercise and cannot possibly be dated to 31 B. C.She has also investigated the relationship between the Panegyricus Messallae and the rhetorical tradition of the encomium and has given a special attention to the few but important references to this text, made by authors of the Late Antiquity.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
