Verso una nuova estetica. Categorie in movimento

The evolution of the arts in the course of the Twentieth Century has dramatically changed the nature of the concepts that we employ to describe them and judging them. At the base of this book there is the conviction that to better follow this process toward a new aesthetics, the most appropriate instrument originates from relevancy names and categories. Morphing is the key word. A transformation smooth, gradual, without solution of continuity puts us in front, at a certain point, a panorama changed, a new history we must tell, with a style and a different vocabulary, taking advantage of the sense that the words earn on the ground of their use.

L'evoluzione delle arti nel corso del Novecento ha drasticamente mutato anche la natura dei concetti e delle categorie che impieghiamo per descriverle e giudicarle. Siamo davanti a un panorama cambiato in profondità, a una storia nuova che dobbiamo raccontare con uno stile e un vocabolario diversi. Questo libro mette a confronto, di volta in volta, un termine dell'estetica tradizionale e quello che, nel dibattito attuale, ne ha preso produttivamente il posto. Tutte le categorie individuate vengono affrontate per coppie allo scopo di rendere evidente la corrente che le attraversa e gli slittamenti che si sono prodotti nella storia recente della disciplina.
