This book stems from a teacher's curiosity in gathering ideas from the pleasant adventure of teaching throughout the years and, as a consequence, in deepening the understanding of interesting aspects of language classroom life. The main aim is to offer an account of different, although related, teaching experiences and of the subsequent reflection on meaningful outcomes linked with language use and language learning aspects. It takes the view that it is largely through research on the classroom context professionals in the field of language teaching can gather relevant insights which eventually enable them to improve teaching practices. The purpose of the book is to provide a series of case studies with a common thread. Indeed, by examining a range of practical classroom aspects, through the description of activities and the related case studies, it seeks to reveal how learners and teachers act both from the linguistic and social perspective.
