Computers in nursery schools can be powerful interactive tools which positively affect learning and encourage flexible thinking, as long as they are used as part of a wider cognitive process. To this end the Interdepartmental Centre for Didactic Research (CIRD) of the University of Calabria has begun a process of action-research (AR) into the use of computers in the classroom through the INF@ 0.1 didactic software. The aim is to investigate whether suitable learning environments contribute to an increase in child creativity as well as strengthen specific learning abilities in given contexts. This work presents the documentation of the experience monitored over the 2007/2008 school year, and some interesting results obtained

Abstract
Computers in nursery schools can be powerful interactive tools which positively affect learning and encourage flexible thinking, as long as they are used as part of a wider cognitive process. To this end the Interdepartmental Centre for Didactic Research (CIRD) of the University of Calabria has begun a process of action-research (AR) into the use of computers in the classroom through the INF@ 0.1 didactic software. The aim is to investigate whether suitable learning environments contribute to an increase in child creativity as well as strengthen specific learning abilities in given contexts. This work presents the documentation of the experience monitored over the 2007/2008 school year, and some interesting results obtainedI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
