High-damage threshold pyromethene-BF 2 complex-doped poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) rotating disks were used to efficiently generate solid dye laser radiation in the 540- to 690-nm range. At higher pump levels thermal-induced astigmatism significantly affected the output beam, however the efficiency remained essentially the same even at 350 mJ output energy over hours of operation at 10-Hz repetition rate. A comparative experiment with a Rh6G led to slightly better divergence but only 30% efficiency. Preliminary experiments made with other solid-state dye disks led to about 50% efficiency at 650 nm and 690 nm.

Abstract
High-damage threshold pyromethene-BF 2 complex-doped poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) rotating disks were used to efficiently generate solid dye laser radiation in the 540- to 690-nm range. At higher pump levels thermal-induced astigmatism significantly affected the output beam, however the efficiency remained essentially the same even at 350 mJ output energy over hours of operation at 10-Hz repetition rate. A comparative experiment with a Rh6G led to slightly better divergence but only 30% efficiency. Preliminary experiments made with other solid-state dye disks led to about 50% efficiency at 650 nm and 690 nm.File in questo prodotto:
