In this paper we discuss a new e-learning paradigm, the w-learning, which is based not only on the possibility of obtaining contents on demand, but it integrates traditional learning activities with web communities communication model. In the second part paper deals with w-learning technologies and, in particular, focuses on multi-tier web architectures, on XML and on metadata.
