This paper describes an online learning environment, called Youle@rn, designed and implemented with the objective of integrating the learning formal and informal dimension. Youle@rn is a learning environment in which the learners take a more active role as compared to traditional e-learning platforms, because they can interact within their own personal space (profile) in which they share new knowledge through different ways of representing this latter: textual contributions, multimedia documents and links to external resources. The possibility to share their actions, to comment on the speeches of other learners, along with the presence of various synchronous and asynchronous communication tools, encourage negotiation forms of knowledge and allow to trigger off high levels of dialectic and confrontation, with the aim of arriving at an environment of intellectual work in a constructivist perspective.

Abstract
This paper describes an online learning environment, called Youle@rn, designed and implemented with the objective of integrating the learning formal and informal dimension. Youle@rn is a learning environment in which the learners take a more active role as compared to traditional e-learning platforms, because they can interact within their own personal space (profile) in which they share new knowledge through different ways of representing this latter: textual contributions, multimedia documents and links to external resources. The possibility to share their actions, to comment on the speeches of other learners, along with the presence of various synchronous and asynchronous communication tools, encourage negotiation forms of knowledge and allow to trigger off high levels of dialectic and confrontation, with the aim of arriving at an environment of intellectual work in a constructivist perspective.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
