Corrugated pipes are commonly in use for fluid transport; in hydraulics they are of interest for irrigation and drainage. The topic was studied more than 60 years ago by Morris, but some of his conclusions are today under question, since new experimental studies and new fluid dynamics models are available. After a short review of the literature, the paper reports a series of tests on pressurized flow carried out at the University of Calabria, Italy, using a 200 mm diameter plastic corrugated pipe. Friction factors were obtained in 72 tests in a wide range of discharges (0.4 to 109.2 l/s); for five discharges in the range 10.2 to 49 l/s velocity profiles were observed too. The velocity profiles allowed obtaining an equation for pressurised flow that was proved to be suitable even for the wider range of tested discharges.

Abstract
The velocity profiles allowed obtaining an equation for pressurised flow that was proved to be suitable even for the wider range of tested discharges.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
