In view of the current criteria for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage, the task of experimental and technical disciplines is to find solutions to counter the natural aging of the materials that constitute them. In order to develop the project for conservation must capture all material information relating to the knowledge of the object, the causes and manifestations of degradation, as well as the need to have more extensive knowledge, science-based products and / or methodologies to be used during intervention. The analysis of the degradation of an artifact is fundamental because it allows to identify all diseases, identifying root causes, processes and aggravating factors. With reference to these concepts, which are the basis of modern conservation science, through the present work demonstrates an advanced diagnostic plan which is focus on the use of experimental investigations designed to characterize materials and to carry out the recognition of the relevant types of degradation by laboratory analysis carried out on microsamples. In particular, to illustrate the method we have chosen a building with an historical and architectural importance; it is Mezzatesta Palace, situated in Seminara. It was built, during the nineteenth century, by experts who have built it, imitating models and techniques of the Renaissance, it is a historical memory of the environment and the time in which it is arose.

Abstract

historical memory, whose custody is substantial interest in the man and the company. Theirn protection requires not nly knowledge of the material aspects, but also aesthetic and philosophical moral, then cultural.
