Diagnostic plan applied to the front of benedictine Monastery of SS. Trinita’ in Cosenza (CS)

The buildings if abandoned and left to the degradation risk to lose their architectural value as well as their historical and cultural identity. both to the structures and to the image of the artifact and the site where they are located, We can intervene by developing a specific diagnostic plan that yields the analysis and information needed for the creation of an integrated system of knowledge essential to the realization of an appropriate plan of restauration and conservation. In this work it was examined a building located in the historic centre of Cosenza and identified historically as a Benedictine monastery of SS. Trinity that is in a state of severe degradation and that in times has undergone minor surgery localized maintenance absolutely unsuitable for the storage of materials and its historical identity. In particular, in order to provide useful information to the restoration work, it has been rebuilt a cognitive framework of knowledge, with specialized investigations on micro samples of the materials, with the intention of creating a specific digital card to be used to acquire basic knowledge on constitutive materials for the building and acquire relevant information needed to set the correct action for recovery.
