An advanced diagnostic plan applied to a significant national monument: the Royal Palace in Naples

In the note, some methodologic approaches were compared, elaborated by different disciplinary points of view, to anage process to acquire, to elaborate and to aplicate useful knowledges in the action of maintenance of cultural heritage. The goal is to infer the peculiarities, putting in evidence correspondences and distinctive characters, through the analysis of methodological approaches developed for the management of the cultural goods in the specialized literature. The proposed idea is to recognize and to select the strong points of the different examined methodologies in order to define new criterions, in interdisciplinary optics, to optimize an applied methodology to the safeguard and the maintenance of the cultural heritage. An innovative and evolved scientific methodology is proposed, focused articularly on aspects of interconnection among different fields of competence, in order to increase the effectiveness in the study of the cultural monuments and in the operational measures. In the text it is also proposed a brief historical excursus egarding the concept of knowledge, considering in a critical way the positions of some philosophers, beginning from Plato and Aristotle, to underline the importance that the cognitive investigation has always assumed in the time as preliminary fundamental base to any action.
