The various investigations of knowledge and the contributions of each discipline can be managed by following an object oriented approach that allows to identify and analyze problems related to collaboration and cooperation. Such problems may be tackled by splitting them into parts and sub-parts, yet avoiding segmentations and juxtapositions of autonomous The intervention proposed is multi-step, i.e. it is organized in successive coordinated phas-es: a wide-ranging investigation on the whole area; parallel studies on the historic centres; an analysis focussed on a single urban space and on a representative monument. Each phase of investigation is, in its turn, divided into three crucial steps of study (pre-diagnosis, diagnosis, post-diagnosis) that are aimed at directing and managing interventions in a rational, strict, effective and cyclical way. At a territorial level, the phase of pre-diagnosis allows to observe the distribution of monu-ments, to identify their construction techniques, to characterize materials and discover where they were quarried. On the other hand, the phase of post-diagnosis enables to ob-serve the different effects brought about by interventions, such as their compatibility with the context and the level of enhancement of resources and of historical and monumental buildings. Similarly, but at a more detailed scale, a pre-diagnosis “digital health record” may be elaborated for each identified valuable component and then integrated with details in the diagnostic phase by means of laboratory analyses. Post-diagnosis is intended to ana-lyze the level of effectiveness of the interventions and procedures of heritage enhancement and fruition carried out through present use multimedia techniques. As a whole, the approach assures a systematic and orderly management of systems which are complex by nature.
