Proceedings of a conference held at University of Calabria in Rende, Cosenza, Italy on October 18-19, 2016. The conference was a comparison between Cohesion Policies among regions in Italy and the USA. It includes 15 contributions by eminent scholars who address designs and implementations of regional policies. Some contributions investigate the past, some other the present and some the future of regional policies in the European Union. The goal is to reflect on the experience and to give some advice to regional policy makers who are charged with their implementation.
