Modula-2 may be used as a control abstraction language. This paper first surveys a Modula-2 extension with threads -first class control objects which support the construction of user-defined, reusable control modules. Then presents a realistic control abstraction which was achieved from threads and which provides a combination of coroutining, backtracking and simulation facilities. A few examples are furnished which exemplify the possible programming paradigms enabled by the control regime developed. Finally, implementation issues are discussed.

Abstract
Modula-2 may be used as a control abstraction language. This paper first surveys a Modula-2 extension with threads -first class control objects which support the construction of user-defined, reusable control modules. Then presents a realistic control abstraction which was achieved from threads and which provides a combination of coroutining, backtracking and simulation facilities. A few examples are furnished which exemplify the possible programming paradigms enabled by the control regime developed. Finally, implementation issues are discussed.File in questo prodotto:
