Binomial metaphors that use the preposition «de» constitute an area that is relatively unexplored in comparison with other structural configurations. Moreover, in most cases, their examination is partial and fails to illustrate all the types of transfer that these metaphors are able to produce. Indeed, the description of their functioning requires the consideration not only of syntactic and lexical factors but also of the modalities through which the exchange between the semantico-referential domains involved is produced. Hence, this study proposes an approach which develops following two levels of analysis: the first concerns the linguistic conditions that generate the metaphorical process, and the second contemplates the features of conceptual interaction regarding the metaphorical process itself.

Abstract
Binomial metaphors that use the preposition «de» constitute an area that is relatively unexplored in comparison with other structural configurations. Moreover, in most cases, their examination is partial and fails to illustrate all the types of transfer that these metaphors are able to produce. Indeed, the description of their functioning requires the consideration not only of syntactic and lexical factors but also of the modalities through which the exchange between the semantico-referential domains involved is produced. Hence, this study proposes an approach which develops following two levels of analysis: the first concerns the linguistic conditions that generate the metaphorical process, and the second contemplates the features of conceptual interaction regarding the metaphorical process itself.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
