The concept of national identity is analyzed in the history of modern and contemporary conservative political thought and in the various declinations that have offered some of its most representative exponents (Hume, Burke, Nisbet, Oakeshott e Scruton) of the Anglo-American area, from the late 18th century to today, pointing out the differences in cultural orientation and the theoretical approach that characterize the various strands of thought within the variegated conservative world.
Si analizza il concetto di identità nazionale nella storia del pensiero politico conservatore moderno e contemporaneo e nelle diverse declinazioni che ne hanno offerto alcuni dei suoi esponenti più rappresentativi (Hume, Burke, Nisbet, Oakeshott and Scruton) dell’area angloamericana, dal tardo ‘700 fino ad oggi, tenendo presente le differenze di orientamento culturale e di approccio teorico che caratterizzano i vari filoni di pensiero interni al variegato mondo conservatore.
