We start by providing an overview of research on probabilistic spatiotemporal databases. The bulk of the paper is a review of our previous results about probabilistic spatiotemporal databases using the SPOT approach. Presently these results are scattered in various papers and it is useful to provide a uniform overview. We also present numerous interesting research problems using the SPOT framework for probabilistic spatiotemporal databases that await further work. © 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
