This work describes and defines a modern Java framework called Theatre. It enables the modelling, analysis and implementation of distributed real-time systems based on the metaphor of actors. Theatre supports seamless application development and the notion of timing predictability. The same model can be evolved without distortions from early analysis through design and to a series of implementations. The paper describes Theatre and demonstrates its application to the development of a distributed dependable real-time system. Theatre’s current level of maturity and practical implementation are outlined.

Abstract
This work describes and defines a modern Java framework called Theatre. It enables the modelling, analysis and implementation of distributed real-time systems based on the metaphor of actors. Theatre supports seamless application development and the notion of timing predictability. The same model can be evolved without distortions from early analysis through design and to a series of implementations. The paper describes Theatre and demonstrates its application to the development of a distributed dependable real-time system. Theatre’s current level of maturity and practical implementation are outlined.File in questo prodotto:
