On the assumption that the future development of the territory must be oriented towards sustainable models, in the topic the criteria for locating the interventions and integrating them with the urban context have been defined to encourage urban regeneration processes. The most appropriate intervention criteria were also indicated to pursue the objectives of an efficient, safe and sustainable mobility. The intervention scale has been identified in the district. In fact, it has a sufficiently large dimension to use sustainability criteria not limited to the building scale (environmental, economic and social sustainability), but it is still limited enough to allow concrete measures. Specifically, the topic describes the criteria to define a sustainable district, transferable to the urban scale: high density, with immediate access to public transport to encourage sustainable mobility; functional mix, with coexistence of spaces dedicated to housing, activities and neighbourhood services; reduced consumption of non-renewable resources (soil, energy, water, biodiversity), to minimize environmental impact; intergenerational mix and social cohesion, with diversification of accommodation and cohabitation between different generations and cultures. The study of good practices, including international ones, has highlighted the fundamental importance of enhancing the potential inherent in built environment, placing the role of public spaces at the centre of attention.

Abstract
The study of good practices, including international ones, has highlighted the fundamental importance of enhancing the potential inherent in built environment, placing the role of public spaces at the centre of attention.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
