This work provides the analysis of Vietnam entrepreneurship making emphasis on the importance of women participation. Recent studies suggest that one of the reasons of blooming of mercantile entrepreneurship trend in Vietnam is the improved society’s awareness about gender equality. Women entrepreneurship narrows down the occupational segregation, strengthens the economy and potentially generates the community evaluation in a very sustainable way. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the effects of global, national and individual factors on the development of women entrepreneurship in Vietnam and to test whether women stereotypes regarding the choice of entrepreneur activity still hold in a modern society.
