La Métaphore entre langue et discours

The vast panorama of metaphor studies is highly heterogeneous, not only in terms of the theoretical perspectives and analytical approaches adopted, but also in terms of the rhetorical status of the figure. This book follows a double exegetical path, both structural and discursive, in order to develop an exhaustive typological classification that takes into account both systematic, grammatical and conceptual factors, and contingent, contextual factors. Creative metaphors, at the heart of this research, are privileged instruments through which language catalyses the movement of thought that leads to the discovery of unexplored spaces, where the process of expression is transformed into a process of meaning.
