ISTISAN Congressi 21/C3 (in Italian) The world’s population is ageing and age-related disease such as dementia are increasingly a public health priority. As a consequence the World Health Organization presented, in 2017, the Global Dementia Plan. Italy has a National Dementia Plan (NPD) since 2014, renamed the Alzheimer Evaluation Units (Unità Valutative Alzheimer) as Centers for Dementia and Cognitive Decline and underlined the need of organizing them taking into due consideration both integrated management and the definition of dedicated clinical pathways. The Conference aims at gathering and reporting the most relevant prevention, clinical and research activities carried out by the facilities that, within the Italian National Health System, are dedicate to the management of patients with dementia and their families and caregivers.
