This contribution is an analysis of "Alone Together" ten years after its first publication and in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, made global by communication and transport infrastructures. Going back to Turkle’s iconic book allows a deeper understanding of emerging issues, namely how the COVID-19 pandemic is reshaping communication as a sociotechnical and mediated process, through key topics such as dis-connection, care and emotions.
