In this article we propose to examine the parallelism between the simple objects that according to Wittgenstein (1889-1951) constitute the substance of the world; the essence that Plato (428-348 BC) speaks of in the dialogue called Cratylus; the dynamic object of C.S. Peirce (1839-1914) seen as initiator and recipient of the cognitive process based on semiosis.
