Il realismo politico nel movimento conservatore angloamericano del Novecento

This essay traces the significant stages in the political thought of the most influential conservative intellectuals of the twentieth century , who, albeit from different perspectives, made the Machiavellian realist method their own: Weaver, Voegelin, Kirk, Oakeshott, Nisbet, and Scruton. The author focuses, in particular, on the mutual influence established, in some of these authors' major writings, between political realism and conservatism.

Il saggio ripercorre le tappe significative del pensiero politico dei più influenti intellettuali conservatori del Novecento che, seppure da diverse prospettive, hanno fatto proprio il metodo realista di matrice machiavelliana: Weaver, Voegelin, Kirk, Oakeshott, Nisbet e Scruton. L'autore si sofferma, in particolare, sulla mutua influenza che si stabilisce, in alcuni dei principali scritti di questi autori, tra realismo politico e conservatorismo.
