This project contains GEER post-disaster reconnaissance data collected following the August 4, 2020 Beirut Port explosion. The dataset contains the following pieces of information: (1) locations of 360° photos taken in October 2020 using a GoPro Fusion camera mounted to the roof of a car, (2) detailed structural damage assessment information for 172 buildings based on in-person inspection performed within a month from the explosion and exterior structural damage assessment information for 10 buildings based on 360° photos taken in October 2020, and (3) façade damage assessment data based on facade damage observed using the 360° photos taken in October 2020. This dataset can be used as a validation tool for fluid dynamics simulation studies and/or to calibrate/validate near real-time remote sensing damage maps. Due to the presence of potentially sensitive/personal information, direct access to 360° photos is not provided in this publication. All photos collected and analyzed in this project are available online in two separate repositories with blurred faces and plates for privacy protection (more details and links are available in the mission-related information). The photos are available in the Mapillary and Beirutrecovery websites (see URLs in the Referenced Data section). For the latter, photos can be visualized after selecting user: aubmsfea in the main menu.
