The protection, conservation, valorization and fruition of cultural heritage contribute to preserving the memory of a community, of its territory and culture. This awareness led to a study on Palazzo Galluccio, which is one of the most interesting buildings in the historical centre of Crotone, a city in the region Calabria, Italy. Built on an area previously occupied by another building, currently, it has a massive and elegant structure with neoclassical façades following examples of Roman architecture. The study on Palazzo Galluccio was carried out using an advanced methodological procedure aimed at constructing its cognitive framework, i.e., all the information needed to trace a consistent representation of its all-round profi le. The study was organized in preparatory and consecutive steps aimed to highlight the relations between the layout of the building and that of the town, its constituent materials and state of conservation, which were defi ned also through laboratory analyses on representative samples. Thus, the adopted methodological procedure is a crucial point of reference for the knowledge of Palazzo Galluccio and, thanks to the analysis of its distinguishing features, it allows identifying the elements needed to develop actions for its greatest valorization.

Abstract
Thus, the adopted methodological procedure is a crucial point of reference for the knowledge of Palazzo Galluccio and, thanks to the analysis of its distinguishing features, it allows identifying the elements needed to develop actions for its greatest valorization.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
