La famiglia tra dimensioni valoriali e istanze pedagogiche in Romano Guardini

Romano Guardini dedicates a section of Ethics (1950) to "Being generated and the family". What emerges from his studies and his reflections is the need to root personal existence in concrete directions of responsibility, existential authenticity, ability to understand, search for meaning and strong adherence to the spiritual dimension. The founding peculiarity of the building of the family is for Guardini the freedom of the person to choose how and where to direct one's existence so as to continuously renew the personal project of one's life, the interest in which to invest time and energy, the chosen design in which make one's existence adhere by orienting it daily in a positive direction, in axiological and meaningful paradigms. Consciousness, understood as the highest realization of the self, gives the human being the possibility of being aware of his own possibilities and limits, refines his relational skills, dialogue, authentic exchanges with each other. All these elements, essential and unavoidable, are for Guardini the sure foundations, the rock, recalling the evangelical parable, on which to found the family.
