For some time now, healthcare companies have adopted risk management and mitigation processes comparable to those of private sector product or service companies due to the similarity of the risks to which they are subject and due to the process that sees this type of company increasingly voted to a managerial structure. The objective of the paper is to frame the risks to which this category of companies are subject from a theoretical point of view and then focus on the Risk Management process adopted by them. In particular, we will focus on "Incident reporting", a method currently widely used for the real-time management of clinical risk. The approach of the study is qualitative and is based on the analysis of the existing literature in order to give it an organic systematization. The analysis has implications of a theoretical and academic nature as it contributes to the literature on risk management in the health sector and has implications of a managerial nature, as it can provide companies with support in the adoption of risk management and risk mitigation models.
